Hi everyone! My name is Mah Noor and I am currently a sophomore at Rutgers University. My major is Cell Biology and Neuroscience, while my minor is Business Administration. I am on the premed track and plan to specialize in surgery down the road. Specifically, I am very intrigued by the complexities within brain. I’m so happy to be part of a community where we all can grow together. I look forward to gaining more exposure to resources for premeds, as well as working with my mentor.

Heya Noor! Cell Bio, Neuroscience, and Business Admin is such a great combo. LMK if you want to talk ever about MBA dual degree programs in medical school.

Hey Aashi! Sorry I’m catching up on replies today, Welcome to BreakThru! Temple is a great school, I had the good fortune to rotate with some Temple Medical students at St. Lukes. Feel free to reach out anytime with questions or if you need any advice as you move into the application cycle!

Hi everyone, my name is Maithily Diaz and I am a first-gen senior dual degree at UMBC getting a BA in Modern Languages (RUSS/SPAN) and BS in Biology with a minors in music and psychology. I plan to go into the Army (2nd generation!); I am interested in orthopedic surgery and since getting involved with neurosurgery orgs recently, I am also interested in neurosurgery (I realize this probably means spine neurosurgery but we’ll fine out!). I also plan to get an MPH in Global Health as I currently do research at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health on mental stigmas in Latino immigrant populations. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Welcome Maithily! These are really great goals and a BA in Modern languages is really going to stand out on the interview trail. Let us know if you want some contact info of medical students and residents currently in the Army National Guard, they can give you some insight into their experiences and what kinds of benefits you can apply for.
Great having you here!
